Vehicle Restoration Work Needed After a Fender Bender

Fender benders are among the most common of accidents and something we see a lot here at our Arizona vehicle restoration and general maintenance shop. From big RVs to tiny Corvettes, no one is immune to the bang up frustrations that can be caused by a minor fender bender. Most of the time, these minor bumps just cause cosmetic damages, but in some cases, appearances can be deceiving. It’s still important to always see your mechanic following a fender bender to ensure bigger issues like the following aren’t at play:

Common Problems Caused by Fender Benders

  • Alignment damage. The impact of a fender bender may cause your wheels to go out of sync, leading the vehicle to pull to one side. A vehicle out of alignment is often uncomfortable to drive and has the long-term risk of unevenly wearing out tire tread. Left to wear out unevenly too long and you can expect to need premature tire replacement. So save money in the long-term by getting your vehicle re-aligned today.
  • Bent vehicle frame. A bent vehicle frame is another common outcome of more serious fender benders. In some cases, the vehicle may not be worth salvaging, while in others, with a good vehicle restoration team such as ours, it can be worth the effort. This is especially true if you have RVs and similar style campers.
  • Electrical system failure. Electrical system problems are another common issue following even the lightest of fender benders and such problems can range from complete black-outs of your rearview camera to annoying malfunctions in your anti-theft system. Whatever the problem plaguing your electrical system following a fender bender, our team at Premier Coach Works is here to assist.
  • Engine compartment problems. If it was your front-end that was damaged in a fender bender, then it’s important to take your vehicle in to have the engine compartment looked at. Radiators are one of the most common problems we see in an engine compartment following a fender bender due to many being located at the very front of the compartment — and a cracked or otherwise damaged radiator is not something to put off here in Arizona.
